IMM was established in 1972 to create a central marketplace for the trading of currency futures contracts. Today, the IMM trades a wide range of financial instruments, including currency pairs, interest rate futures, and stock index futures, and is one of the largest futures exchanges in the world. The IMM is open for trading during regular market hours and has electronic trading available 23 hours a day.
