Flat or Flat Reading
In financial markets, “flat” or “flat reading” refers to a situation where there is no change in a particular economic indicator, asset price or trading position. For example, if a company’s earnings report is released and shows no change in profit compared to the previous quarter, it may be described as a “flat earnings report”. Similarly, if a forex trader has a trading position where the profit and loss is zero, it could be described as a “flat position”.
