End of Day (EOD)

An End of Day (EOD) order is a type of order placed by traders that instructs the broker to execute a trade at the end of the trading day, typically during the closing auction. This type of order is often used by traders who want to avoid the volatility that can occur during the trading day and prefer to enter or exit positions when the market is more stable. EOD orders can be used for buying or selling securities and can be executed at the closing price or at a specified price limit.
