The Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG) used to publish official statistics on UK house prices, which were considered a key indicator of the state of the UK housing market. However, these statistics are no longer produced by the DCLG. Instead, the Office for National Statistics (ONS) now publishes official statistics on UK house prices based on data from HM Land Registry and the Registers of Scotland. These statistics provide information on the average price of residential properties in different regions of the UK, as well as trends in house prices over time.
